What is a machine vision system

Machine vision systems use machines to replace the human eye for various measurements and judgments. It is an important branch of computer science, which integrates technologies in optics, mechanics, electronics, computer software and hardware, and involves multiple fields such as computer, image processing, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, signal processing, and optoelectromechanical integration. A typical industrial machine vision system includes: light source, lens (Prime lens, zoom lens, telecentric lens, micro lens), camera (including CCD camera and COMS camera), image processing unit (or image capture card), image processing software, monitor, communication/I/O unit, etc.
The machine vision detection system uses a CCD camera to convert the detected object into an image signal, which is transmitted to a dedicated image processing system. Based on pixel distribution, brightness, color, and other information, the signal is converted into a digital signal. The image processing system performs various operations on these signals to extract the features of the object, such as area, quantity, position, length, and then outputs the results according to preset tolerances and other conditions, including size Angle, number, qualified/unqualified, with/without, etc., achieving automatic recognition function.
